I felt totally safe and protected from anything that might be lurking in the air! Lyles was so easy to talk to and I have no worries at all about my upcoming colonoscopy. He has proven to be a very good and knowledgable dr.
Great doctor Yapuri and great facility. The bedside manner was above what was expected, and the entire medical team proficient in their expertise.
Highly Recommend. The doctor was very informative. I was able to get things scheduled easily and the staff was wonderful. Lyles and his staff are wonderful. I feel Dr. Lyles listened to my concerns and he never makes you feel rushed. His office staff and nurses are equally as wonderful. Very comfortable he explained everything to my understanding. The staff welcomes you as you walk in very nice and clean. Yepuri is one of the best doctors I have seen for my Barretts esophagus treatment.
I went to two previous doctors and they didn't listen to my symptoms and never followed up with me. You can put your trust and care with Dr. Yepuri, give him a call. I am very happy with this office I have been My experience with the entire establishment was positive from scheduling appointments and the entire staff. Lyles was extremely attentive to my digestive problems and I feel confident in his prognosis. This doc office aske me to fill out paperwork online which typical and was not a concern Yepuri has been taking care of me for yearsi think he is a great doctorI feel very lucky to have found him and his staff is 1st class also, I would highly recommend Dr.

For example, to return to the "soda" example presented earlier (see above), a third variable could be added to the data set. This variable might contain information about the state in which the study was conducted (either Nebraska or New York).
GENDER SODA STATE case 1 case 2 case 3 case 4 case 5. NEBRASKA NEW YORK NEBRASKA NEBRASKA NEW YORK. The crosstabulation of these variables would result in a 3-way table: STATE: NEW YORK STATE: NEBRASKA SODA: A SODA: B SODA: A SODA: B G:MALE 20 30 50 5 45 50 G:FEMALE 30 20 50 45 5 50 50 50 100 50 50 100 Theoretically, an unlimited number of variables can be crosstabulated in a single multi-way table.
However, research practice shows that it is usually difficult to examine and "understand" tables that involve more than 4 variables.
It is recommended to analyze relationships between the factors in such tables using modeling techniques such as Log-Linear Analysis or Correspondence Analysis. Graphical Representations of Multi-way Tables.
You can produce "double categorized" histograms, 3D histograms,Batches (cascades) of graphs can be used to summarize higher-way tables (as shown in the graph below). Crosstabulations generally allow us to identify relationships between the crosstabulated variables. The following table illustrates an example of a very strong relationship between two variables: variable Age (Adult vs. Child) and variable Cookie preference (A vs.
COOKIE: A COOKIE: B AGE: ADULT 50 0 50 AGE: CHILD 0 50 50 50 50 100 All adults chose cookie A, while all children chose cookie B.
However, in real-life, relations between variables are typically much weaker, and thus the question arises as to how to measure those relationships, and how to evaluate their reliability (statistical significance). The techniques used to analyze simultaneous relations between more than two variables in higher order crosstabulations are discussed in the context of the Log-Linear Analysis module and the Correspondence Analysis.
The Pearson Chi-square is the most common test for significance of the relationship between categorical variables. This measure is based on the fact that we can compute the expected frequencies in a two-way table (i. For example, suppose we ask 20 males and 20 females to choose between two brands of soda pop (brands A and B). If there is no relationship between preference and gender, then we would expect about an equal number of choices of brand A and brand B for each sex.
The value of the Chi-square and its significance level depends on the overall number of observations and the number of cells in the table. Consistent with the principles discussed in Elementary Concepts, relatively small deviations of the relative frequencies across cells from the expected pattern will prove significant if the number of observations is large. The only assumption underlying the use of the Chi-square (other than random selection of the sample) is that the expected frequencies are not very small.Everything worked without a hitch.
Our travel advisor was able to accommodate a relatively late change in our tour choice and still provided a terrific selection of lodging destinations. Documents and vouchers were complete, organized, and accepted without question. The provision of a phone is a terrific standard and was used to quickly resolve the one issue we had with the car rental agency. We would not hesitate to utilize Nordic Visitor for another holiday destination.
We enjoyed our holiday more than we can describe, and I know that the photos we posted on Facebook, and the comments we made, have directly led to others arranging holidays there. Thank you for sharing your amazing country with us.
We can't wait to come back. Totally brilliant holiday, superbly organised by Brynjar. If we lived closer to Iceland we'd be back in a heartbeat. In September, hiking in Ice fiord area is wonderful. The area turned from green to reddish colours within two weeks. A lot of wild berries lied along the undulating hillside. On the far hillside, we saw the first snow and winter was round the corner.
We absolutely enjoyed every aspect of our trip. We loved the fact that the itinerary was planned for us each day and we could refer to the script in the book as we'll as follow the map to each nightly destination with planned as well as unplanned stops along the way.

We loved the accommodations, we thought that the were many different types which were all interesting and unique in their own ways. The food everywhere we ate was very good. We were a bit surprised about the prices of the food. It reminded us of the prices in the New York metro area where we live so it was not too much of a sticker shock for us, it may be for people visiting from more rural areas. The people were very friendly and courteous. The School of Statistics, College of Liberal Arts, University of Minnesota, invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position beginning fall semester 2013.

Santos-Lozada and Jeffrey T. The authors used monthly death records from the Puerto Rico Vital Statistics system from 2010 to 2016. One was a nice post discussing the challenges for AI in medicine by Luke Oakden-Rayder and the other was about the need for increased focus on basic research in AI motivated by AlphaGo by Tim Harford. Despite the excitement around AI and the exciting results we see from sophisticated research teams almost daily - the actual extent and application of AI is much smaller.
I was listening to the Effort Report Episode on The Messy Execution of Reproducible Research where they were discussing the piece about Amy Cuddy in the New York Times.
I think both the article and the podcast did a good job of discussing the nuances of the importance of reproducibility and the challenges of the social interactions around this topic. Sometimes, when I write a really long blog post, I forget what the point was at the end. I suppose I could just update the previous postbut that feels wrong for some reason. I meant to make one final point in my last post about how better data analyses help you reason about the data. In particular, I meant to tie together the discussion about garbage collection to the section on data analysis.
I just got back from the rOpenSci OzUnconf that was run in Melbourne last week. These events are always a great opportunity to meet people just getting started in the R community and to get them involved. As is typical for these unconferences, topic ideas were pitched via issues on the OzUnconf GitHub repo. The gist of Face ID is that it recognizes your face using a mathematical representation and then unlocks the phone when it can confirm that it is you.
When we teach the class an exploratory graph is the kind of graph you make for yourself just to try to understand a data set. An expository graph is one where you are trying to communicate information to someone else.
Communication Both of my podcasts have a co-host who is not in the same physical location as me. Therefore, we need to use some sort of Internet-based communication software (Skype, Google Hangouts, FaceTime, etc. A lot of it was YouTube videos of advanced editing or very basic stuff. New theories make predictions which allow them to be disproved by reality. For example, predicting the structure of crystals at the atomic level is a current research challenge. The existence of this absolute frame was deemed necessary for consistency with the established idea that the speed of light is constant.
The famous Michelson-Morley experiment demonstrated that predictions deduced from this concept were not borne out in reality, thus disproving the theory of an absolute frame of reference. The special theory of relativity was proposed by Einstein as an explanation for the seeming inconsistency between the constancy of the speed of light and the non-existence of a special, preferred or absolute frame of reference. Albert Einstein's theory of general relativity could not easily be tested as it did not produce any effects observable on a terrestrial scale.
Mathematical models of stock market behaviour (and economic behaviour in general) are also unreliable in predicting future behaviour. Among other reasons, this is because economic events may span several years, and the world is changing over a similar time frame, thus invalidating the relevance of past observations to the present. Thus there are an extremely small number (of the order of 1) of relevant past data points from which to project the future.
In addition, it is generally believed that stock market prices already take into account all the information available to predict the future, and subsequent movements must therefore be the result of unforeseen events. Consequently, it is extremely difficult for a stock investor to anticipate or predict a stock market boom, or a stock market crash. In contrast to predicting the actual stock return, forecasting of broad economic trends tends to have better accuracy.
Some correlation has been seen between actual stock market movements and prediction data from large groups in surveys and prediction games. An actuary uses actuarial science to assess and predict future business risk, such that the risk(s) can be mitigated.
For example, in insurance an actuary would use a life table (which incorporates the historical experience of mortality rates and sometimes an estimate of future trends) to project life expectancy. Predicting the outcome of sporting events is a business which has grown in popularity in recent years.
Handicappers predict the outcome of games using a variety of mathematical formulas, simulation models or qualitative analysis. Early, well known sports bettors, such as Jimmy the Greek, were believed to have access to information that gave them an edge. Recent times have changed the way sports are predicted. Predictions now typically consist of two distinct approaches: Situational plays and statistical based models. Situational plays are much more difficult to measure because they usually involve the motivation of a team.
As situational plays become more widely known they become less useful because they will impact the way the line is set.
